Tallahassee IIA and ACFE Virtual Event – 8 CPE Audit & Fraud Training

November 1, 2022 - November 2, 2022

Jo can’t wait to spend TWO DAYS with the Tallahassee IIA and ACFE Chapter Members!

Here is the agenda for this 8-CPE event:

Day 1 – 4 CPE Auditing:

Auditing Around The Corner: Looking Ahead to Risks Your Organization IS and WILL BE Facing

Strategic planning is all about predicting the future and developing plans to anticipate and meet needs of customers in the future. It’s time for internal auditors to do some serious strategic planning for their customers – about the risks “around the corner” at their organization. In this session, we will explore what is coming out of our triple pandemic world – yes, triple: the Health, Social, and Economic pandemics that are facing your organization today. And we will thoroughly discuss other risks and opportunities of involvement for internal auditors in areas such as:

  • Health and Safety
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Environment, Social, Governance (ESG)
  • Technology
  • Macroeconomics
  • The Future of Work.

It’s time we reimagine internal audit. It’s time we turn our traditional audit plan into a risk avoidance map. It’s time we truly audit for what’s coming “around the corner” or for what’s already here!

Day 2 – 4 CPE Behavioral Ethics/Fraud:

The 7 Deadly Ethical Sins of Organizations

Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Gluttony, Wrath, Sloth. Have you ever thought of these “7 Deadly Sins” in terms of ethics at your organization? Well, Jo did in her book, Becoming The Everyday Ethicist, and she can’t wait to share her thoughts with you. In this session, we will explore 7 potential “ethical” sins in organizations today. From the WRATH of “disingenuous leaders” to the LUST of those with the “move fast and break things” mentality to the ENVY of organizations who do things just because “everyone is doing it”….

The question is, which of the sins will your organization fall prey to? And how can you, as a leader (whether you are an audit, risk, compliance, accounting, or other business professional), prevent it? Get ready for this thought-provoking, innovative session on ethics!

AND.

Total Ethical Auditing: Assessing Ethics and Fraud Red Flags

Total Ethical Auditing™ (or TEA) as published in Jo’s book, Becoming The Everyday Ethicist, is “a mindset, mission, and execution process for Internal Auditors to audit organization leadership and culture.” In this program, we will discuss how to Think & Plan Like a Fraud Examiner by reviewing the ethics and fraud “red flags” that exist within organizations today, such as: Disingenuous Leaders, Suspect Accounting Processes, Aggressive Incentives & Compensation, and (Un)Ethics & Technology – just to name a few. You will then use new assessment techniques learned to prioritize WHERE your focus needs to be when auditing culture and HOW to start!
