But after a week of ethics, I was reading my evaluation cards and I came across this one. And WOW. I was so honored that I literally shared on every outlet I could. Thank you MBS for saying it was the “Best ethics presentation I’ve ever attended.” JUST WOW.
I am not sharing to brag – REALLY, I’m not. I’m sharing because sometimes standing up in front of a crowd is not easy. You have to be vulnerable. You have to be tough. You have to realize that not everyone will like you. These are all things I am still learning as I speak more and more. But it is moments like this – feedback like this – that makes you realize you are meant to be sharing your message.
Ethics is my message. Being an “Everyday Ethicist” is my goal and my goal for all of you. We have to start changing these headlines. Our children cannot grow up thinking it is okay to “rationalize” behavior… to bribe to get into the right college or to get the best grades. They have to realize “move fast and break things” leads to unethical decisions, and it is time to start going back to the basics of ethics being RIGHT over WRONG.
If you want a “taste” of my version of ethics – I invite you to watch this quick (under 1 min) video of my intro to one of my “Everyday Ethicist” presentations this week! Please excuse the crazy face on the cover below – I am just THAT intense about ethics I guess (just kidding). 🙂 I really try to make ethics as FUN as possible. I promise.
AND do you want to see that is it REALLY possible to LAUGH during an ethics presentation? Check out this (again quick) “ethics quiz” portion of my presentation!
